Edmund L. Luzine, Jr., Founder and CEO -
Mr. Luzine is an
experienced senior financial executive with a career focused on generating opportunities
and managing risks in the global emerging markets. He served as the Founder and Vice President
of a new EM trading group at Dresdner Bank AG/Dresdner Kleinwort Benson North
America, LLC (now Commerzbank, AG), an Assistant Vice President in the Emerging
Markets Division at First Chicago (now J.P. Morgan), as an advisor at the State
Department, and as an advisor to the World Bank in the Balkans. He retired from the US Army after 28 years as
a senior special operations intelligence officer. He served as an advisor to the Chairman,
Joint Chiefs of Staff as part of the US re-balance to Asia with a focus on
China, energy and economics in his last military assignment. He directed the
Pentagon’s anti-terrorism intelligence & law enforcement fusion cell, conducted
financial and economic research at DIA, executed counterintelligence and human
intelligence operations, and served as a plans, operations and senior briefing
officer on deployments to the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq. He lived and
worked in over 62 nations. He also
served as the Founder and CEO of Adirondack Capital International, LLC, an alternative investment
firm focused on the emerging markets, and Ausable Funds - a soon to launch mutual fund firm. Ed
served for 18 years as an MBA Professor of Finance at Union College and the Carey School of Business, Johns Hopkins University. He is currently a global policy advisor at
RAND. He earned a BS at Syracuse
University and an MBA in Finance, Economics and Business Public Policy from the
Simon Business School at the University of Rochester. Ed was President of the Washington
Association of Money Managers, and serves on the advisory board of the Hill
Museum & Manuscript Library at St. John’s University. Ed is the great-grandson of Michael J.
Wytrwal.
